Military Medicine Division, Ministry of Defense
Unless otherwise stated, the MoD Military Medicine Division is responsible for conceptual and control activities and professional and methodological management in military medical care. It manages the planning of material and financial resources in military medical care. It ensures the fulfilment of tasks of the service authority responsible for military specialities under the professional supervision of the director of the Military Medicine Division MoD. It prepares documents for decisions on the provision of transfers according to Article 115, paragraph 3, letter m), plans financial resources for providing transfers, processes documents for their payment, maintains an overview of provided transfers, and controls their use.
It ensures the performance of state administration and state health supervision in the field of public health protection and promotion, state veterinary administration and state supervision in the field of veterinary care, state administration in the field of handling pharmaceuticals, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy and ionizing radiation within the Ministry of Defense. It professionally and methodologically manages the field of military service cynology and biological protection of airports and aviation within the MoD. It supervises the performance of hygienic-epidemiological and veterinary care in operations of the Czech Armed Forces on the Czech Republic territory, in operations abroad, and the provision of support to allied forces on the state territory within the Host Nation Support (HNS) framework.
It is responsible for ensuring biological protection in military operations of the Czech Army on the state territory, in foreign operations, and providing Host Nation Support (HNS). It professionally and methodologically commands the Military Medical Agency.
The director of the Military Medicine Division is the Surgeon General of the Czech Armed Forces. It represents the MoD in the Committee of Chiefs of Military Medical Services in NATO (COMEDS).
