Communication and Information Systems Division

MoD CIS Division is the principal body to determine concept and inspection activities as well as the expert and methodical guidance of CIS within the MoD area of responsibility. It is responsible for the strategic control of the processes of the information support, elaboration of the concepts and strategy of informatization, the implementation of the state information policy within the MoD AOR, defining of requests of capabilities of CIS ensuring the interoperability with NATO network and for the coordination of elaboration of global architectures of the CIS.

The Division elaborates the concepts of CIS establishing, is responsible for the development and defines the training tasks as well as the rules of warfight usage of the signal units of the Army of the Czech Republic. it is responsible for the development of command posts of the ACR in the field of CIS.

  • It is responsible for establishing and maintaining the cyber security of the integrated information environment of MoD, including the information security. It ensures the life cycle management, the development and the security of CIS
  • It is responsible for interconnecting the CIS of MoD with the alliance systems and with the government system
  • It ensures the development of the command posts of the ACR and of the alliance in the CIS area
  • It ensures the national support for the NATO DCM (Deployable Communication Module)
  • It maintains the operational preparation of the territory of the Czech Republic in the CIS field
  • It fulfills the tasks of the service authority in the area of responsibility of the Director of CIS Div. It is the national military authority for the non-civilian and shared parts of the radio spectrum in the Czech Republic
  • It conducts the follow-on inspection of the state property management in the area of responsibility of the Director of the Division. It controls the planning process of material and finance in the CIS field. If guides and controls the CIS Agency
     

The Director of the CIS Division MoD:

  • is the authority within MoD according to the governmental resolutions related to the implementation plans of project "Digital Czechia"
  • chairs the Information committee of the Minister of the Defense
  • is the property manager in his area of responsibility
  • represents MoD in NATO C3 (NATO Consultation, Command and Control Board) and Federated Mission Networking Group
  • is the chief of the signal corps of ACR
