MoD Legislative and Legal Department

Legislative and Legal Department of the Ministry of Defence is the legislation authority for matters in the scope of power of the Ministry of Defence. The Department is responsible for the conformity of the legislation drafted within the remit of the Ministry with national laws and for its formal requisites.

 

• The Department serves as the Ministry’s expert authority which evaluates or develops, in cooperation with subject matter owners, documents for the Parliament and the Government of the Czech Republic.
• The Department is responsible for specific administrative proceedings, legal representation of the Ministry of Defence and the activity of the MoD remonstrance committee. It is further responsible for the conformity of internal regulation proposed under the scope of power of the Ministry of Defence with national laws and other internal regulation and for their formal requisites.
• The Department exercises independent and impartial oversight of the standards of specification of subjects of public procurement from the point of view of efficiency, objectivity, transparency and non-discriminatory character.
