The EU must get ready for technological challenges ahead

As part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Czech Ministry of Defence organises the conference named Importance of Modern Technologies for European Defence and Security in Prague on July 19-20th, 2022. The conference will discuss the challenges and opportunities furnished by technological modernisation of the EU Member States’ armed forces.

A strong transatlantic partnership, adequate defence resourcing invested into capability shortfalls and improved strategic communication of our missions and operations – all those are essential for strengthening our ability to respond to crises. That was the primary takeaway from the discussions security experts from European and non-European countries, EU institutions, NATO and think-tanks, who gathered in Prague for the conference named Responsive CSDP: Navigating through Troubled Waters of Geopolitics. The first event organised by the Czech Ministry of Defence as part of the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union took place in the National Museum in Prague on July 6-7, 2022.
Czech Defence Ministry to link European experts for discussing the future of European defence and security

Organised by the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic, the conference named Responsive CSDP: Navigating through Troubled Waters of Geopolitics takes place in the premises of the National Museum in Prague on July 6-7, 2022. The conference is going to discuss the future course of the European Union’s security and defence policy with a view to the current geopolitical situation. The Strategic Compass, a new EU security and defence strategy, will be one of the key subjects.
MoD priorities for the Czech Presidency

A ceremony held in the Litomyšl Chateau today starts the Czech Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The key goal for the Czech Republic in this semester will be to foster a safer and stronger Europe and the MoD priorities build on that endeavour.
Czech Armed Forces in command of EU Training Mission Mali for the second time

On June 21, 2022, for the second time in its history, the Czech Armed Forces took over the command of European forces in Mali. Czechs were in the lead of the operation once before, in 2020. The EUTM Mali Force Commander is now Brigadier General Radek Hasala, who took over from Brigadier General Christian Riener of Austria. In the next six months, Czech Armed Forces service personnel will be in command of over 700 European service members from 25 countries.
