    We are gravely concerned by the substantial, unprovoked, and unjustified Russian military build-up on the borders of Ukraine in recent months, and reject the false Russian claims of Ukrainian and NATO provocations. We call on Russia to immediately de-escalate, pursue diplomatic channels, and abide by its international commitments on transparency of military activities.

    The Helicopter Tactics Symposium is an integral part of the Helicopter Exercise Programme (HEP), which is one of the helicopter training programmes of the European Defence Agency designed to enhance European helicopter capabilities and interoperability. Participating Member States make use of the HEP with their aircrews and rotary wing aircraft to the effect of common training and experience sharing in the frame of a ten-year programme.

    The Czech Armed Forces servicemembers home-based in Strakonice have served four months as part of the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group Lithuania by now. Since this has been the historically first operational deployment for the 25th Air Defence Missile Regiment, they have gained valuable lessons thanks to serving in the Baltics. The key takeaway for them is from operating together with land forces of other NATO nations.

    The Ministry of Defence was the venue to the Annual Commanders’ Meeting that discussed the Czech Armed Forces’ plans for 2022. This was Minister Lubomír Metnar’s last attendance in the meeting as the Minister. He underlined the growing defence budget, modern weaponry for our service personnel and the support of Czech armaments companies as the most important achievements.

    From November 15-19, 2021, an international SERA training course focused on acquisitions and armaments was held in Prague. The event was organized by the MoD Industrial Cooperation Division with the contribution of the MoD Armaments and Acquisition Division and the Czech Embassy in Paris. The Czech Ministry of Defence supported the course financially through the project of economic diplomacy (PROPED). Despite the deteriorating pandemic situation, the SERA 32 course was attended by 46 experts from 18 European countries. The course took place under strict hygienic conditions.
