    Prime Minister Andrej Babiš visited the Ministry of Defence today to support the Armed Forces and express his gratitude to the military for aiding to fight the coronavirus at the same time. The press conference after the meeting voiced another key message: Modernisation must go on. The contract for the new tracked infantry fighting vehicles should be executed by the end of this year.

    On 16 April 2020, the EU Political and Security Committee confirmed Brigadier General František Ridzák as the Force Commander of the EU Training Mission in Mali. He will take over the command on behalf of the Czech Republic on 12 June 2020 for the period of six months.

    On Thursday, 5 December 2019, the Czech-Israeli government-to-government contract for the acquisition of eight units of 3D mobile air defence radars (MADR) was signed in Prague by Deputy Minister for Armaments and Acquisition Filip Říha and Brigadier General (Retired) Yair Kulas, Director of SIBAT, the International Defence Cooperation Directorate of the Israel Ministry of Defence.
