This week, throughout the Czech Republic, citizens and soldiers are celebrating the 73rd anniversary of the liberation of Czechoslovakia and Victory Day in Europe, and paying tribute to war heroes, American soldiers and the Red Army who advanced from the east and west to bring freedom to the country’s population after enduring five years of war.

Iraqi Minister of Defence in Czechia for talks on boosting security and defence cooperation

Minister of Defence Karla Slechtova welcomed the Minister of Defence of Iraq, Mr. Erfan Mahmood Abdalgafour Al-Heiali, for talks during his three-day visit to the Czech Republic, which also included visits to an air base and several Czech defence industry companies.

Mining operations and simulated blasting practice for combat engineers

Over 100 soldiers from the 151st Engineer Battalion and the 4th Rapid Deployment Brigade have concluded a ten-day training exercise in the handling, laying and demining of anti-tank mines. The exercise took place at the Boletice Military Training Area.
