Czechs in Mali engage in the fight against terrorists

In the afternoon of 18th June, Czech soldiers serving in the EU-Training Mission (EUTM) in Mali became involved in the fight against the terrorists who attacked the Campement Kangaba Hotel resort near Bamako on the same day.

The one-day exercise ‘Water Crossing 2017’, held last week at Myslejovice water reservoir, was a demonstration of the skills of Czech military personnel in carrying out challenging tasks and negotiating obstacles in and around a river while operating their amphibious recovery and rescue vehicles.

Every two years, the 21st Tactical Air Force Base at Caslav holds an Open Day to present the air and ground equipment of the Czech Armed Forces, and this year it opened its gates again to the public on 20th May. This traditional air show of dynamic and static displays continues to attract thousands of military and aviation enthusiasts.
