A Czech soldier receives the highest NATO award

Staff Warrant Officer Ludek Kolesa, who served for more than four years as Senior Non-Commissioned Officer at the NATO Allied Command Transformation, receives the highest NATO decoration. Only three Czechs received the same decoration so far.

Czechs and Slovaks: Joint acquisition programmes and participation in foreign operations

The joint acquisition of equipment was one of conclusions from talks of General Vlastimil Picek, Chief of the General Staff, Armed Forces of the Czech Republic, and Major General Peter Vojtek, Chief of the General Staff, Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic, at Slovak towns of Cadca and Zilina during 29 February and 2 March 2012.

In appreciation of saving life of an American soldier in Afghanistan, US General Martin E. Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, awarded Staff Sergeant Michal Novotny the Bronze Star Medal.
