The 19th European Athletics Championships 2006 held in Göteborg, Sweden, Monday August 7 to Sunday August 13, 2006, have been the most successful athletic event for Czech sports since the championships held in Athens, Greece, in 1982, when then Czechoslovakia won nine medals.
