5th ACR Unit - ISAF HELI UNIT, Paktika Province, Afghanistan
Motto: "NOBODY SAID IT WOULD BE EASY"
The Czech 5th ACR Unit serves in the Paktika Province as the Task Force HIPPO and is part of the American Helicopter Task Force FALCON. Both formations fulfil transportation tasks and observation missions in favour of commander of the ISAF Regional Command East.
Commander of the 5th ACR Unit:
Lieutenant Colonel Karel Krejcirik
Deployment: January - May 2011
Size of the Unit: 99 personnel, including 21 flying personnel.
Major equipment: three upgraded Mil Mi-171S helicopters.
The commander of the unit assumed operational task on 1st February 2011 to serve with his staff in Paktika till May 2011.
The Unit is located at the US Forward Operation Base Sharana in the Paktika Province.
